If you’re reading this, you might have written condos off as being “too common” or just “too small”. That is certainly the sentiment many of my clients express when I’m in the information gathering stage and trying to assess their criteria. Some take this even further - and could be described as ‘radicalized’ loft lovers or even ‘loft fundamentalists.’
I can certainly appreciate this perspective. I chose to specialize in lofts because the buildings interest me. Each one has it’s own unique history and usually an interesting architectural design. I also like that developers can’t just erect a loft on any empty parking lot… making them more rare and attractive to buyers looking for not only a great living space, but one that will give them a good return on their investment.
However… before this turns into a little ‘pro-loft’ piece of propaganda, let me get to the point: Toronto has many great condos!
Yes I said it (probably for the first time on this whole website), the city of Toronto has produced some fantastic condos over the years… and these condos deserve our attention, even if just a minimal amount of it.
Below is a list of what I consider to be the best condos in Toronto. The criteria I used to make this list isn’t exactly scientific, but here are some notes on it:
- Many of my clients have purchased from these condos. Yes, buyers who initially wanted a loft were swayed by these particular buildings.
- They are well managed and have maintained very reasonable condo fees.
- They are generally in high demand.
- They tend to have a few exceptional qualities about them, including (but not limited to) interesting architecture and unique suite layouts, prime downtown/midtown locations, and/or they were built by some of the top rated developers in the city (Cresford, Context, Tridel, Aspen Ridge – to name just a few).
Here’s the list. If you feel a particular condo should be added, please let me know!
